GridIron with Tristan Tabby Cat!

Hey...come on in! I've got the games on all day and we've got Turkey Sandwiches, cold beer, and Party Mix! Check out my high tech flat screen TV!

Football,Domestic Cat,Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan

Need I say it would be a HUGE upset for the 0-11 Lions to beat the 10-1 Titans? Still, I have to meyowl for the pussycats, if only because of the undercat factor.

Football,Domestic Cat,Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan

Dallas 7-4 has the edge in this game over the 2-9 Seahawks, as long as they play smart and don't make any really stupid mistakes. During this game we will be serving Seahawks sandwiches instead of the the tradition turkey sandwich. We also have a variety of fish flavored treats to help us support the 'boys.

Football,Domestic Cat,Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat

Arizona has a chance of beating the Eagle, but Philly is a respectable 5-5 in a the tough NFC-EAst. This is probably the best match of the day. The Cards are 7-4 in the NFC West, but given the other teams in their division, that's not necessarily a recommendation. However, after the Phillies defeated my Rays I cannot possibly meyowl for ANY team from Philly, so...

Mr. Hendrix who are your picks for today?

Tabby Tuesday

Sir Tristan in the Greenwood

Did you know that Tabby Cats are striped, with a variety of patterns?

The classic "blotched" tabby (or known as "marbled") pattern is the most common and consists of butterflies and bulls eyes.

The "striped" or "mackerel" tabby cat is a series of vertical stripes down the cat's side (resembling the fish). This pattern, which is broken into spots, is referred to as a "spotted" tabby. I am striped tabby, as you can see from my markings in the picture above!

The tabby markings may also look like a series of ticks on the fur, thus the "ticked" tabby, which is almost exclusively associated with the Abyssinian cat.

Mancat Monday

Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Sir Tristan

Good grooming is very important to a man cat. One must always maintain a clean and tidy coat at all times as one never knows when a lovely lady cat might show up and need to swept off her feet.

Domestic Cat,Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan

Since I have white in my coat, I like to pay special attention to that area to that it is as clean as the newly driven snow. (Note, I have no idea what newly driven snow is, but it sounded good in a poem I heard.)

Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Sir Tristan

Getting in between the toes and the tips of the toes is always very important. And as a reminder to our man cats in training, don't forget to wash behind your ears!

Now then...

You know, we've had such a fun week here at Tabbylicious, that I just couldn't decide on which post to submit to weekend Cat Blogging, so I decided to submit them all. That way, it's like getting a whole bunch of tabby goodness in one little box:

Sir Tristan,Domestic Cat,Tabby Cat

And to make it even sweeter, if request one of mine, I'll also send you one of the Demon Cat from Hell in a snowstorm! w00T!

On Tuesday, I went for a walk in the woods with my good friend Saffron. Happily it was warm, because she wasn't dressed for cold weather.

On Wednesday, I demonstrated my hunting prowess by catching a turkey. And don't forget to take the turkey trivia test and See how much you know about these delicious birds!

Thanksgiving is coming, so Thursday was all about being thankful. Yes, I'm thankful to have a home after being foreclosed and yes, I'm thankful for the food I get and the toys I play with, but there's something else I'm even more thankful for. And you can discover what that is in my Thursday post.

Friday I did a little fishing. You have got to see what I caught! Definitely the catch of the day!

To finish things off on Saturday we did some Trismas carols with the Trismas Tabernacle Trior.

Football,Sports,Domestic Cat,Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan

Well, my Hurricanes did not win on Thursday (41-23 vs. Georgia Tech), but both Florida and Florida St. came out on top, with the Gators beating up on the Citadel 70-19, while the Noles knocked Maryland around, 37-3.

Miz Parker's Spartans are on the right track, but still have a ways to go before they can compete with the big teams in their division. Ohio State wiped up the field, 42-7.

Today, we're gonna watch the Dolphins, which is the Massage Therapist's favorite team.

Don't forget that Trismas is just around the corner, and you can get all your Trismas shopping done online at the easy to use, K.C.'s Holly Day Shopping Mall:

Caturday Trismas Caroling

Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Christmas

Here's an old favorite that I know you'll all want to sing along to....

Chick-hens roasting on an open fire
Ornaments dangling in front of your nose
Yuletide carols being caterwauled by a choir
And cats hiding out from all the snow

Everybody knows a turkey and some
Mistletoe help to make the season bright
Tiny kittens with their eyes all a glow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Sandy Claws is on his way
He's got lots of cat toys and goodies for you to slay
And every little kitten is gonna try to see if
Vishus deer really know how to fly

And so, I'm offering this
Simple phrase to kittens from
One month to twenty-two
Although it's been said many times, many ways
Tranquil Trismas to you

I caught a Turkey!

Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat

Looky! Look! I have caught a turkey...

Feather that is.

Did you know that there are 3.500 feathers on a turkey?

Did you know that wild turkeys can fly up to 55 miles per hour? That is much faster than I can run.

I know all of his because I took the Turkey Trivia Quiz.

Okay, I only got seven right, but I learned a lot while I was taking it. You try it and let me know how well you do (considering I just gave you two answers)!

That being said, I am ready for some...

Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Sir Tristan,Poser,Thanksgiving,Autumn

And a House Trashing party, even if it is for the Demon Cat's Purthday.

Geeeezzzz. I was hoping the Massage Therapist would send me someplace warm...like Maui or something. Oh well. At least the sun is shining in the woods, and it couldn't be too cold, given the way Saffron is dressed. Otherwise the poor thing would freeze to death!

Mancat Monday

Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan,Domestic Cat,Christmas

Looky! Looky!

I am featured on my first very own Trismas card! Isn't that the coolest thing?

Because I'm a peaceful sort of fellow, it's all about peace on earth and good fishes to all.

If you would like to receive a Trismas card from me, with me, Sir Tristan Tabby Cat Longtail, on it, e-mail me with your snail mail address and I'll pop one in the snail to you.

What could be cooler?!

Mr. Tristan's Log

Domestic Cat,Pirate,Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat

We found a fat French merchant off the coast of Haiti. Few ships can out run the Diamond Cutter under full sail and this one tended to wallow around like a sow anyway.

A lucky cannon shot broke her main mast and it wasn't much of a battle after that. Plenty of swag for all and the Demon Cat ..er.. Captain was actually in a good mood.

We put into Tortuga for some recreation and I found my way to a grog shop called "Ye Red Parrot". Horrid stuff. Worst tuna grog I've every had. Definite poison, so stay away! Trust me, I drank two whole bottles and it didn't get any better as you went along.

We leave the tide to make our way to the Cayman Islands. I've not idea what the Captain is seeking there, but it doesn't matter. As long they've got better tuna grog, I'll be happy camper...er...sailor.

PeeEss: Do you like me new earring?

Horrified on Thursday

Rock,Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat

Okay. I can't believe it. According to an article on Yahoo, Elvis Presley is not the King.

Seriously.

In a recent Poll conducted by Rolling Stone magazine Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, has been named the greatest singer of the rock era.

Franklin, 66, came in ahead of Ray Charles at No. 2, Elvis Presley at No. 3, Sam Cooke at No. 4 and John Lennon at No. 5, according to the magazine's survey of 179 musicians, producers, Rolling Stone editors, and other music-industry insiders.

The 100-strong list will be published on Friday, when Rolling Stone hits the newsstands with four different covers.

All I can say is, I'm flabbergasted. I'm certain they are wrong. I demand a recount.

Those people at Rolling Stone? What do they know?

Elvis is still King on this blog!

Wordy Wednesday: 8 Random Things Me-me

Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan,Domestic Cat,Jungle Love
In the jungle, welcome to the jungle...

Vampy Victor has tagged me for the 8 Random things me-me. This is kind of like the 7 things me-me, but you need to write about eight things.

Here are the Tag Rules:

1. Each player starts with eight random fact/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. A the end of your blogpost, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their name.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.

Here we go:

1. I am a foreclosed kitty. The humans that I lived with for the first three years of my life lost their house and had to move. They left me behind, dumping me on the neighbors instead of trying to find me a new home. The neighbors finally convinced the Massage Therapist to take me in as a companion for the Demon Cat from Hell.

2. I was not wild born like the Demon Cat from Hell, and so I like getting picked up and cuddled. I don't scratch or bite like the Demon Cat will if you bother her when she does not wish to be bothered.

3. Despite having learned all my hunting skills hunting kitten toys, I'm pretty good at catching bugs and lizards. I did have to live outside for a while and feed myself, so, you pick it up, here and there.

4. I love rock and roll, so put another dime in the juke box baby...

5. I am a tall, thin fellow and am quite the speedster. Despite not being a big fan of NASCAR, I think I would make a good racing cat, especially as I come with a great natural stripe pattern. So I think one of the NASCAR drivers should adopt me as a mascot and paint their car to look like me.

6. I used to live with two woofies, so somethimes I tend to act like a woofie. This is especially true if there are any leftovers in the offering. I can beg with the best of them!

7. I like being an indoor cat, but I like getting to go outside too. I seem to have gotten over the walk about thing, so I come in and out all of time. Monday night I found the secret door on level 5 and got in that way. I was eyeing it as a potential exit door as well, but the Massage Therapist assures me that it only goes one way. I need to check my cheat codes, I think.

8. Despite the fact that the Demon Cat and I still have some clashes over things: like food, the corner of the bed, and who's going use the human as cat furniture, we are no longer hissing and growling at each other and she no longer tries to keep me out of the house. We'll even bumped noses once in a while in greeting, but she has be in a very good mood indeed for that to happen!

So there you go. If you want to know more about the Demon Cat, you can read her me-me's here and here.

So, I would like to tag...

My sweet T'Abby Normal and the Stygian Panther,
Cory Cat from the Cory Cat Blog,
Whimper's Whim,
Ernie and Wally and the Island Cats,
Nelly the Newcomer & all the Cats at Sandwiched Mom,
Sam the Marmalade Cat,
Billy Sweetfeets over at Meezer Tails,
Hans the kitty, Telsa's new brofur.

Good luck to all of you and thanks for playing along!

A Military Tabby Tuesday

Armed Forces,Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan,Domestic Cat

Today is Veterans Day in the United States, an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. It is a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states and is usually observed on November 11th.

It is NOT one of the six major holidays that most humans take the day off from day hunting for, but some humans do get it off. (The Massage Therapist does not get it off, woe to me because I kind of looking forward to nice massage.)

It is also observed in Canada, where it is called Remembrance Day, and in other parts of the world where it is called Armistice Day, and it marks the signing of the Armistice that ended World War 1.

(Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11the day of the 11th month with the German signings of the Armistice.)

World War I was a long time ago, and most of the humans that were involved in it are no longer alive, even though they are a very long lived species by feline standards.

So instead of just using it to honor those that were involved in that epic battle, they changed it back in 1954 to honor all military veterans.

It is usually marked with parades and and various observances including school history projects that the small humans engage in.

In honor of Veterans Day, the Massage Therapist got me all camouflaged up and gave me some really cool sergeant stripes and a stylin' hat. She refused to give me a gun, however, I got some really glitzy lookin' dog tags.

I also got a medal, probably for being brave enough to come back in the house and face the daily horrors of the Demon Cat from Hell.

SHE might be a veteran of the Raccoon Wars. I've heard it whispered, you know. I tell you, she's mean enough that I could see her taking on a Coon and winning as well.

Anyway, enough about the Demon Cat. I look pretty good in sergeant stripes, don't you think? They really go with my already fashionable tiger stripes!

Mancat Monday

Tabby Cat,Sir Tristan,Domestic Cat,Fantasy

A Mancat should be ready to defend his realm from all sorts of marauding creatures. Sunday, I bravely slew and invading dragon (...er fly that is).

Of course, as a Knight of the Round Bowl, this sort of thing is rather second nature to me.

Slaying of Dragon(flies) -- Easy.
Facing down the Demon Cat from Hell -- Nearly Impossible.

The Woods Out Back

Autumn,Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat,Fairies

My friend Amber says I should not eat the little animals here in her Enchanted Realm. She says they are our friends. I guess that's okay, as the Massage Therapist continues to give me food, so I don't have to go hunting for lunch. But I am a House Tiger and we Tigers just love to hunt!

I am also surprised that the Demon Cat as agreed to let me explore her fantasy world, as she is - supposedly - the Fairy Queen. But I think the Massage Therapist had a lot to do with that too. Amber says she will protect me though. She is a woodland fairy and knows all the dangerous things in the woods. (Not that Tigers, even House Tigers, need protection...)

Tabby TV

And I thought I was the only one who did this!

Okay, well, not this exactly. First I sing to my water. Then I put my paw in it and swish it around a bit. Then I sit down and drink it properly. But I don't think the tabby in this video can get its head in the glass...

Frightful Friday

Pirate,Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat

Despite having been on board the Diamond Cutter for nearly two months now (but who's counting), I still spend my time hiding down in the bilge. If the Demon Cat catches me anyplace else, she comes after me. The massage therapist vows she is going to put a latch on the bilge so I can't get down there hide. Then what will I do?

But I did get this great hat to wear, kind of like a real pirate!

Tuckered out Tabby Tuesday

tabby cat

My Massage Therapist noted that if I'd stop going out until all hours of the night I wouldn't be so tired during the day. I'm NOT out until all hours of the night. I come every night at 2 AM, right after the Playcats Club closes. Got to keep those spicy vixens entertained, you know?

I did stay home last night though, had myself a nice big dinner and a good massage. Sometime you have to take time out to pamper yourself as well!

Mancat Monday

A real mancat should not be afraid to show his affections, so...

To my dear sweet and fierce T'Abby Normal, I just want to say that:

tabby cat
